Can you gluegun things on to a canvas over dried oil paint?

umm...Im not sure...im just hoping hot glue doesnt melt oil or something freaky like that, which i normally wouldnt consider and screw up the whole projectCan you gluegun things on to a canvas over dried oil paint?
Glue guns wouldn't stick well, the melted glue really needs something to wrap around to hold, I wouldn't trust it to stay put at all!. Use photo mount glue spray for something flat or epoxy (two part glue) for something 3 dimensional if you want it to last. Can you gluegun things on to a canvas over dried oil paint?
You'd be better off using something like super glue or, better yet, a compound such as rapid cure epoxy--so strong you only mix the 2 components once you are ready to do the sticking...because it would just dry in the bottle if it were premixed..that's better than using a glue gun and you can get that epoxy in any hardware store. Is not expensive. Use a popsicle stick to mix it and do the mixing in a tinfoil pie plate....then swab it onto whatever u want to glue using the wooden popsicle stick...Hold it firmly in place for a while or lay art horizontal till it dries.
