Do companies use oil base paint, or water base paint to make furniture?

My dining room table is scuffed up, and we want to repaint it. Should we use oil or water base paint? The company is now closed so we cant call to ask them.Do companies use oil base paint, or water base paint to make furniture?
Apply 4 coats of exterior grade oil-bound undercoat to the clean tabletop.

Obtain wetordry paper and using water start rubbing out the brush-strokes until you have a totally smooth surface, allow to dry and apply oil-bound exterior grade paint with a 3'; foam roller.

Heat the paint in boiling water before use

Sometimes there is a dull finish on painted furniture, in which case use acrylic finish paint which is water based as the final coat.
