How do you remove oil-based paint from metal?

I'm trying to remove some (dryed) oil based paint from metal without scratching or harming it in any way.How do you remove oil-based paint from metal?
Here is a list of solvents that will thin oil paint, from mildest to strongest. Try the mildest first, and go from there.





1. Paint thinner or mineral spirits


2.Kerosene


3. Acetone


4. Laquer thinnerHow do you remove oil-based paint from metal?
White Spirit. Works a treat.








Use Brasso afterwards...
Thinner. Trust me you want to use to the odor free kind!
mineral spirits. Like paint thinner or turpentine.
