Why does oil paint allow artists to do such finely detailed work?

It offers the most flexibility and control over other paints such as watercolor and acrylic, because it stays wet for a long time unlike acrylic and it's not as risky as watercolor. Why does oil paint allow artists to do such finely detailed work?
It's not the paint, it's the artist who applies it. One can get any amount of detail they want by just being good at the medium. This applies to acrylics, watercolors, color pencils, markers, charcoal or whatever.

It's funny how some people actually tried to justify your errant observarion as if it were true. Why does oil paint allow artists to do such finely detailed work?
Its viscosity is controllable with linseed oil, it dries slowly so you can scrape it off if it gets too thick, and it's just a very forgiving medium. You really do have more control over it than you do over other paints.
i personally think that detail can be made with any paint, if you try hard enough.
