How do you draw over an oil paint underpainting correctly?

I'm a novice to oil painting and my underpainting has finally dried, but how do i do sketches over it without messing anything up? is it better to just use my brush as the sketcher or is there a simpler way?How do you draw over an oil paint underpainting correctly?
I like to do my sketches before I do the underpainting. It is not required though, so don't worry. You can use charcoal, which wipes off well, too. You are also correct to say using a paintbrush is another possibility. It makes oil painting very flexible, doesn't it?How do you draw over an oil paint underpainting correctly?
If the paint is truly dry, you can use pencil or whatever over it. The way it adheres to an effects the paint will vary depending on the exact surface. You can also use paint to sketch if you'd like.
